OFFICIAL ORGANIZATION FOR WORLD MRSA DAY
MRSA SURVIVORS NETWORK, founded in 2003 by Jeanine Thomas, a MRSA survivor
who nearly died from MRSA and C.Diff. MSN was the first advocacy group in the U.S. and was the first to ring the alarm about
the MRSA epidemic. MSN gives support to MRSA suvivors and their family members and works to raise awareness and educate others
in the healthcare industry and the community. MSN partners with other advocacy groups around the world as we fight together
to stop the spread of MRSA, a preventable disease, which kills more people in the U.S. than AIDS.
MSN has been the leading resource for MRSA information and support and has been
the catalyst for change with its crusade to establish legislation that will save lives. MSN introduced the first legislation
in the U.S. to mandate hospitals to screen, isolate and decolonize at-risk patients upon admission to Illinois hospitals.
Now four other states have passed similar legislation; New Jersey, Pennsylvania, California and Washington.

MSN works with fellow advocacy groups here in the U.S. and overseas to partner
together to educate the government, healthcare industry and the public on this deadly antibiotic resistant bacteria that is
sweeping the globe.
MSN initiated and launched World MRSA Day in January, 2009 as it was time
to bring this disease to a new level and heighten awareness across the globe as MRSA continues to spread out of control in
many countries.
